Since the canvas makeovers went so well for the twins, I have kept an eye out for painted canvasses at my favorite thrift store. I promise, there is always at least one – and always cost less than a dollar. I mean, who in their right mind would pay a lot of money for a used canvas depicting someone else’s initials? Am I right? Of course I am! But, I will pay a dollar, although I’d rather pay a quarter, 😉
Ok, so all of these masterpieces (and I use that term loosely) started out as something either butt ugly or poorly drawn, or in some cases well done, but still cast aside. Ripe for the picking, I tell ya!
I love to paint on a canvas. The feel of the paintbrush on canvas is so cool, and I just love the way the paint smears across or puddles up. I also love to glue bits of paper and other odds and ends to it. I might add some stickers or rub-ons, maybe a little texture with tissue paper or mulberry paper. Then I think it needs something else, so I drag out my rubber stamps and before you know it, I can’t see my table! Anyway, check out my latest canvas creations!
