Sleepover

Since we are going to Encampment soon with my Brownies and it is 2-night trip, it was suggested to me that we do a trial run sleepover beforehand.  Good idea, I thought!  We only have 7 Brownies going to Encampment, but I didn’t want to exclude the other Brownies from our troop.  So, I invited them all over to our house for a sleepover.  I had 11 girls say YES, they wanted to come.  Whoo-hoo, that makes 12 seven year old girls in the house, including Lael.  Caeden started rolling his eyes immediately upon hearing about it and asked if he could stay over at Dylan’s.  I worked that out with Aimee and all was good.  What was funny though, is that the boys were here as the girls started arriving and kept acting like they were totally put out about all these girls around, but in reality, I think they were secretly loving it!  They didn’t head down to Aimee’s for several more hours.  Then the next morning, Aimee said they had no sooner woke up and scarfed down some breakfast that they were talking about coming back down to our house.  Funny stuff!

We ended up with only 8 girls attending, plus Lael.  Nine 7-yr olds is a lot though, I mean my house is not huge or anything.  But, they were all great, jumped on the trampoline, rode the Rip Riders, turtle bikes, scooters, bikes, played with bubbles, hula hoops and jumped rope, drew with chalk, ate WAY too much candy.  One of the girls got a tummy ache she ate so much, so I ad to put the candy jar on top of the refrigerator.  After it got too dark to play outside we started painting fingernails.  I think that each of them picked a different color, and some of them picked a different color for each nail!  They got out all of Lael’s dress up clothes and put on a fashion show which was really really cute!  Some of them came strutting in a like true model, showing their stuff.  Others walked in like the silly 7 yr old they all are. Here is a picture of all of them before they got too silly to be still for pictures!

I made a cookie cake that was like the Holy Grail or something.  They gobbled it up in about 2 seconds.  Luckily I had cut some pieces before they started eating it to send to Caeden and Dylan, or they would not have let me.  It is just the recipe from the bag of Nestle Toll House chocolate chips, but it is so good!
