Our puppies are one year old today! I’m not sure we can still call them puppies anymore now 🙁 I like to call them puppies, and they are still pretty small since they are miniature dachsunds! So, I will just might always call them puppies. Yes, I think I will.
Anyway, today is their birthday – one year old. We did a photo shoot with them out in the back yard and I loved the way LOTS of the pictures turned out, but I tried to restrain myself and just pick my very most favorites to post.
It is hard to tell them apart for post people, but Emma is on the left. She is a bit bigger, has a wider head, bigger ears and feet. She is also all brown. Emmas is the crazy puppy who goes nuts for any kind of lights/shadows. She will chase the patch of light that comes in through the windows in the door when you open or shut it. She will flip out over flashlights. But if you pull out a laser with her around she goes insane! She will chase it around and around and around as long as you make the laser move, she is all over it. Lily is on the right. She was the runt of the litter, the smallest and has a bit of black fur sprinkled in. Lily does not let her small size get her down. Not by a long shot – she is the alpha dog of the house. Emma defers to her in pretty much everything. Lily will choose which food bowl she wants to eat out and if she decides she wants the other bowl halfway through, Emma will give it up. If Emma is playing with a toy – Lily immediately has to have it. And if there are people involved, Lily gets crazy jealous! If you are petting or holding Emma, Lily will jump up and get in the middle. But, they still love each other and our home would not be the same without either of them!
