FINALLY! It’s done, really done, this time!! We’ve cleaned the garage half a dozen times over the past couple of years. Invariably, it always turns into a disaster zone again. I think part of the reason why that happened is because we usually just re-arranged all the junk! This time, I started in one corner, working my way around and methodically touched each item I came across. Then I decided if it was worthy of staying in my nice new beautiful garage. A LOT of stuff did not make the cut. I filled the van top to bottom with junk, and I really do feel much lighter! Plus, my garage is so nice now. Of course, it is still packed, but at least it is packed with stuff I really do want. What is also nice is that I labeled all the containers. So, there really is no excuse for not putting stuff back where it belongs. That is an enormous part of our problem. Nobody puts stuff back where they got it from, me included. But, I figured if the containers were labeled that would make it easier. It will also make it easier for us to find stuff! Bulb burned out in a lamp? Check the box labeled lightbulbs! Time to tend the garden? Grab the box labeled gardening!
We actually finished this project Monday, but as Todd said, “No project is complete until everything is labeled, photographed and blogged about!” How true! I put the last of the labels on today, and they make me so happy!! I downloaded the labels from this great artsy blog I came across a long time ago. You can download them as well if you like, they are free. There are actually a lot of freebies there.
