Dresser Becomes a Wine Bar

Dresser Becomes a Wine Bar

My dear sister saw a post on CraigsList for free furniture.  She knows how I love to makeover furniture, especially free furniture!!  So, she insisted that her hubby go with her to pick up a load of furniture just for me.  I know, she’s awesome, […]

I added a few new things to my craft booth today. It was mostly little things, filler type stuff on the shelves and some hanging items on the pegboard. Stuff like that is really where my heart is. I like to take something old and […]

Kitchen Table Makeover

Kitchen Table Makeover

This is the first piece of furniture I did a makeover on for my new craft booth at University Pickers. I got the table from CraigsList for $25!  What a steal!!  I did have to drive about 35 minutes to get it, but it was definitely worth it. I was 99% sure it would fit in the back of my car, but we had to work for about 1/2 hour to get that sucker in there.  The table was in pretty bad shape with lots of scuffs on the top and the edges, but I knew I could make it beautiful. When I saw those chunky legs connected to the trestle type base I was sold.

It did not come with any chairs, but I found some for $12 a piece at a little place in Ardmore, AL. There’s a guy there who has a huge building beside his house chock full of awesome stuff.  It’s right on Highway 53, so if you’re ever in North AL stop by if you’re in the mood for some pickin’!

Not a lot to say on technique here, basically I just painted the table and chairs white, distressed the heck out of them and then added some brown stain to bring out the character.
